The Senceive source imports sensor measurements from one selected device in Senceive Cloud or a local Senceive instance.

Setup

Prerequisites

Before setting up this integration, make sure you have:

  • A Senceive consumer username and broker connection string containing its password
  • A consumer subscription and read access to the device group containing the device
  • The instance URL if you use a local Senceive installation

Credential Setup

Use Senceive Credentials to create or select the credential for this integration. IMSURGE uses the credential to list available device groups and devices during setup and read measurements during pipeline runs.

Integration Setup

After selecting the Senceive credential, configure the source using:

  • Device group - Select the group containing your device. Options show the device-group name when available.
  • Device - Select the device to import. Options show its serial number when available, otherwise its Senceive device ID.

The selected device group and device cannot be changed after saving. Create a separate pipeline for each device. Pipelines can use the same device group, with each importing only its selected device.

This integration uses Data Pull.

Each execution reads the sensor model catalogue through the REST API, then connects to the Senceive event stream using AMQP, reads a limited batch, and disconnects.

IMSURGE reads retained measurements on the first execution. Each pipeline saves its own stream position and resumes from that position on subsequent executions, including after a connection failure. Large backlogs may require multiple executions.

Backtracking uses the time measurements arrived in the Senceive stream. Imported readings retain their original device measurement timestamps.

Each backtrack execution reads one batch. Large periods may be only partially imported, and replay progress is not saved.

Output Description
Devices One selected device, identified by its Senceive device ID.
Metrics Names from the Senceive sensor model catalogue with port and channel, such as OnboardTemperature (port 0, channel 1). Names are saved with each batch for replay; vendor renames affect future batches.
Context Original sensor model code, port, channel, and reported unit text.
Units Taken from Senceive measurements. Unknown units may be left blank while readings are still imported.
Timestamps Original measurement times, normalized to UTC.

Limitations

  • Primary measurements only - IMSURGE imports reported sensor readings without calculating derived engineering values. Configuration, status, and device-file events are not imported.
  • Historical availability - Only measurements retained in the subscribed stream are available. This integration does not retrieve a separate historical archive.
  • Beta Integration - Senceive is a beta integration. Results may vary while the integration is being validated.
